Predrag Skokovic
-MD & Co-founder at Quality House Serbia
"The idea of Quality House Serbia was a combination of events, people and circumstances. The story begins in 2009 with my visit to the SEETEST conference, where I met the founder of Quality House. In all the years since, we’ve worked together on raising awareness about the necessity of having professional engagement in software testing. It was not a ‘Big Bang’ idea, but an evolutionary process that resulted in founding Quality House in Serbia."
Predrag Skokovic as the MD & Co-founder at Quality House Serbia
How Did the Idea for Quality House Serbia Come to Be?
It was a combination of events, people and circumstances. The story begins in 2009 with my visit to the SEETEST conference, where I met the founder of Quality House. In all the years since, we’ve worked together on raising awareness about the necessity of having professional engagement in software testing. With each exchanged e-mail, small talk or deep discussion, we were one step closer to establishing an entity that would help us spread the word about software testing. It was not a ‘Big Bang’ idea, but an evolutionary process that resulted in founding Quality House in Serbia.
What Did You Want to Become as a Child?
A managing director and my dream came through. Just kidding! I was not very creative in that sense; all my thoughts headed in the direction of mathematics or computer science.
Quality House Is for You?
A place where great ideas about measuring/detecting/exploring the quality of software are formed and put into practice, enabling development teams to build first-class software.
What Do You Value Most in Your Colleagues?
Loyalty.
What Is Your Ideal Work Day?
Start early and finish all demanding tasks in cooperation with the team before lunch. After lunch, a small break, a siesta (I come from the Mediterranean, after all), a short walk. In the afternoon, work on repetitive, non-challenging tasks on my own.
What Is Your Idea for a Perfect Team Building?
A place in space and time without constraints, where the team is solving challenging but amusing (physical activity only if possible, without computers) tasks which tell us more about ourselves.

Predrag Skokovic as a Professional
Which Are the Three Qualities Every Professional Should Possess?
Ambition to learn and advance
Integrity
Humility.
Tell Us a Bit about Your Education.
Quite boring, I was a nerd who read a lot about everything. This urge to learn new things has never left me. After elementary and high school attended in Montenegro, I graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the Department of Mathematics, University of Novi Sad, Serbia.
Why Did You Enter This Profession?
I’d rather say the career chose me. Although I’ve never studied software testing, breaking software has always been part of my everyday work. At one occasion, while developing a software product, a client asked a team to produce a test plan. I showed interest and the rest, as they say, is history.
What Has Been the Greatest Challenge You’ve Faced in Your Career to Date?
Speaking in front of a large group of unknown people!
How Do You See Your Career in 10 years?
Leading and inspiring a team of high profile professionals who deliver a high quality service.

Predrag Skokovic as a Person
Who is Predrag Skokovic Outside of Work?
A father and husband. A traveler. A movie and book buff. I enjoy serendipities in life.
What Does the Perfect Day Look Like?
A perfect day would be a combination of adventure and breaks that involve the family. It has to include a visit to a new place, city or village. Lunch break in a quiet, family-run restaurant, serving domestic food and local beer or wine. Afternoon, an easy walk or bicycle ride near the water line. A leisurely dinner with friends or relatives. Or, skiing with my kids on a sunny and snow-filled day.
What Is the First Thing You Bought with Your Own Money?
I believe it was a leather jacket.
When Was the Last Time You Did Something for the First Time?
Each day, I try to learn or implement something new. I don’t find the comfort zone a place that inspires me to give my best. Last month, I founded a company for the first time, does that count?
You Win the Lottery. What’s the First Thing You Do?
Give some amount to my best friend. It’s a promise we repeat every time we do not buy a lottery ticket.
