"The idea for Quality House had been germinating for several years, but found real dimensions in early 2004. Quality House was imagined as a company specializing in superior training and education in testing and quality assurance as well as outsourcing services to clients abroad. Soon after founding Quality House in early 2005, we were surprised to receive a steady number of inquiries about test specialists and we decided to dive in these uncharted waters and become pioneers in the popularization of consulting services for the Bulgarian market."
Mitko Mitev as the CEO & Founder
How Did the Idea for Quality House Come to Be?
The idea for Quality House had been germinating for several years, but found real dimensions in early 2004. Quality House was imagined as a company specializing in superior training and education in testing and quality assurance as well as outsourcing services to clients abroad. I never imagined we’d be providing test services in Bulgaria, because the Bulgarian market was not mature for consulting services. Soon after founding Quality House in early 2005, we were surprised to receive a steady number of inquiries about test specialists and we decided to dive in these uncharted waters and become pioneers in the popularization of consulting services for the Bulgarian market.
What Skills Should a Good QA Possess?
This question has been debated time and time again with prevalent opinions all around. I’ll allow myself to take a different stance. In Bulgaria, you see a focus on technology and automation. It’s all fine and well for a person to be able to read and write code, but it’s no secret theoretical and methodological training is crucial along with its skilled practical implementation.
What’s most important, however, are the communication skills as well as showing initiative, positivity, professionalism and diplomacy when interacting with people. In Bulgaria, it’s also vital to have full control over the Bulgarian and English languages as a starting point. Last, but not least, testing demands for people who can think.
Tell Us a Little Bit More about Your Responsibilities.
I’m responsible for the company’s strategic development and the team’s wellbeing.
Write three sentences starting with “We at Quality House”.
We at Quality House believe in the importance of software quality.
We at Quality House aim to be the best at what we do.
We at Quality House work hard and party hard when it’s time to party.
Quality House Is for You?
There is no simple answer to this one. In the beginning, it was my way to contribute to the development of our IT and of my country as a whole. Now, it is much more. It is also my other teenager.

Mitko Mitev as a Professional
Tell Us a Little Bit about Your Career Beginnings?
I graduated from the mathematics high school in Burgas and acquired a Master’s degree in Computer Science at the Technical University of Sofia. In Bulgaria, I’ve worked in the development, QA and testing field at American and Australian companies. For the past 17 years, I’ve lived in the Netherlands, where I work as an independent consultant for American and European companies.
What Did You Want to Become as a Child?
A musician. As a child I had a passion for both music and computers. Music I turned into a hobby, while computers I turned into a profession, which I’ve been practicing for the past 25 years with ever-increasing enthusiasm.
If You Were to Wake up with a New Ability or Character Trait, What Would It Be?
The ability to clone myself. There are so many things I want to do and so little time.
If You Could Turn Back Time and Choose a Different Profession?
I wouldn’t. I’d undoubtedly repeat every single step to this moment, maybe with a little more confidence and greater focus towards entrepreneurship, which has attracted me ever since my teen years and gave me the push I needed to found my first export-oriented company at the tender age of 19.
