Sava Barbarov is a QA Automation Engineer & AI Testing Specialist with a technology career spanning nearly a decade. He began his IT journey in 2017 at Cisco as a Subject Matter Expert, where he earned multiple recognitions including three "Extra Mile" awards for his contributions to engineering support and root-cause analysis.
He subsequently transitioned into software quality assurance, gaining experience at ASML before joining Datex, where he has accumulated over 5 years of dedicated QA and automation expertise. He currently serves as Quality Engineering Technical Lead at Datex, where he architects end-to-end test strategies, leads performance and load testing of a Warehouse Management System, and drives automation across the full SDLC.
A distinguished figure in the global QA community, Sava is the ISTQB® World Testing Cup 2025 Champion and National Testing Cup Bulgaria 2025 Champion, competing as part of team "Automation Aid."
He specializes in AI-driven testing methodologies, combining browser automation, LLM-powered test execution, and agentic platforms to modernize how teams approach software quality. His work includes developing a natural-language AI browser-testing platform that significantly reduced manual testing effort, as well as leading security, API, and load testing initiatives.
Beyond his role at Datex, Sava is the founder of Automation Aid - an AI solutions and business automation platform - where he builds AI-powered workflows and delivers CRM integrations for SMEs. He holds an ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level certification, with a technical background rooted in Computer Science and Electronics from the Vocational School of Electronics "John Atanasoff.
He leads ISTQB Specialist Level - AI Testing and ISTQB Specialist Level - Testing with GenAI courses at Quality House.
