Slav Astinov is a QA Manager & AI Engineer with a technology career spanning nearly two decades. He began his IT journey in 2006 as an IT Support Specialist, later founding and managing his own IT company, which grew to three local stores offering web development, computer maintenance, and infrastructure services.
He subsequently transitioned into software quality assurance, accumulating over 5 years of dedicated QA and automation experience. He currently leads the Quality Engineering department at Datex, where he architects AI-enhanced testing solutions and oversees automation strategy across the full SDLC.
A distinguished figure in the global QA community, Slav is the ISTQB® World Testing Cup 2025 Champion and National Testing Cup Bulgaria 2025 Champion, competing as part of team "Automation Aid."
He specializes in AI-driven testing methodologies, combining LLMs, prompt engineering, and custom MCP implementations to modernize how teams approach software quality. He holds ISTQB certifications in Foundation Level, AI Testing (CT-AI), and GenAI Testing (CT-GenAI), as well as Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900).
His academic background includes degrees in Applied Linguistics and Economics, complemented by a professional qualification in Pedagogy - bringing both technical depth and strong teaching skills to his training sessions at Quality House. He also leads ISTQB Specialist Level - AI Testing and ISTQB Specialist Level - Testing with GenAI courses at Quality House.
